That cat with the grumpy, disgruntled face. Grumpy Cat’s actual name is Tardar Sauce, and she was not as grumpy as she looks.

Was the Grumpy Cat really grumpy? Well, not exactly. As grumpy as she looks, Tardar Sauce was not grumpy all the time. On the contrary, despite her look, she was a regular cat 99% of the time, according to her owner. So yes, other than her grumpy face, she was a regular cat.

Tardar Sauce was born in a litter of four. She was born not only undersized but also with some abnormal features. Her grumpy face, which earned her the Grumpy Cat nickname, was a result of a certain form of dwarfism. When the brother of the owner of Tardar Sauce posted her picture on Reddit, the cat became an internet sensation.

After Grumpy Cat’s debut in 2012, she made a lot of media appearances. From TV programs, magazines, commercials, YouTube game show commercials. Because of her fame, her owner can quit her waitressing job at that time as the cute cat made lots of money from appearing places and modeling.
